  • Sri Veerabhadra Swamy temple and the Monolithic Bull (Nandi) at Lepakshi were placed on the UNESCO World Heritage tentative list from Andhra Pradesh. The temple was built during the Vijaynagar empire.
  • Gudi Padwa festival is celebrated in Maharashtra. It is observed as the new year of Maharashtra.
  • Nepal becoming the 105th member of the International Solar Alliance (ISA).
  • Haryana government launched crop insurance portal of ‘Mukhya Mantri Bagwani Bima Yojana’ with an initial corpus of Rs 10 crore for the scheme.
  • Dr Sreeram Chauliahas authored a new book titled “Crunch Time: Narendra Modi’s National Security Crises”. 
  • A new book “Queen of Fire” launched. This book is authored by Devika Rangachari. This book is written about the Rani Lakshmibai of Jhansi.
  • Pulitzer Prize winning American poet Richard Howard passes away at the age of 92. Howard won the Pulitzer Prize in 1970 for ‘’Untitled Subjects’’ and was a National Book Award Finalist in 2008 for ‘’Without Saying’’.
  • The Gangaur festival is celebrated in Rajasthan and some parts of Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, and West Bengal. It is one of Rajasthan’s most important festivals and is observed with great fervour across the state.
  • President of India Shree Ramnath Kovind visited the Netherlands. There he was given the new variety of Tulip flower. He gave the new to this tulip as “Maitri ”.
  • Prakriti (mascot) was launched by Environment ministry Bhupendra Yadav for the Waste management.
  • Kaaval Uthavi app launched in Tamil Nadu. The app is for women Safety, they can use it in an emergency. With this app they can also register a FIR.
  • Dharmandra Pradhan released the book titled “Birsa Munda – Janjatiya Nayak ”. This book is authored by Alok Chakrawal.
  • CM of Madhya Pradesh Shivaraj Chawan launched Mukahamintri Udaam Karanti Yojana for the Start Up. In this Loan for start up will be given from 1 to 50 Lakh at low interest rate.
  • Russia is removed from the UNHRC (United Nation Human Right Commision) for attacking Ukraine. Now the total members of UNHRC are 46.
  • Petroglyphs found in the Konkan region  are added to the tentative list of Heritage sites of UNESCO.
  • Madagascar became the 30th member of CDRI (Coalition for disaster resilient infrastructure). This organisation was launched by PM Narendra Modi in 2019.
  • Tamil Nadu women have taken the maximum loan under the MUDRA yojana. They have taken 68% of the total loan taken by the women.

  • Madhavpur Mela is celebrated in Porbandar, Gujarat. It is a 5 days festival in which Lord Krishna and Rukmani marriage is celebrated.

  • Israel tested a new laser-based air defence system ‘Iron Bean’.
  • “Him Prahari ” scheme launched in Uttarakhand for the ex-service men and youngsters.
  • “Radio Aksh ”, India’s first radio channel for visually impaired people launched in Nagpur. Its purpose is to educate the visually imparired.

  • PM Narendar Modi inaugurated the 500KW solar power plant at Palli Village in Samba District, Jammu and Kashmir. Palli becomes India’s 1st Carbon-Neutral Panchayat.

  • The former Chief Minister of Meghalaya, JD Rymbai, passed away at the age of 88 on april 21, 2022. In 2006 he was the CM of Meghalaya.
  • Jamtara in Jharkhand has become the first district in the country to have community libraries in all gram Panchayats.
  • L&T and IIT Bombay collaborate to develop green Hydrogen technology.
  • The Digital India RISC-V Microprocessor (DIR-V) Program was launched by Rajeev Chandrasekhar in New Delhi. It is the next generation microprocessor development program which will be developed by December 2023 so that India can become self-Reliant in terms of Microprocessor.

  • Australia wins ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2022. It was their 7th title won by defeating England at the Hagley Oval in Christchurch, New Zealand.
  • Alyssa Healy of Australia scored 170 runs in the match, the highest individual score made by any cricketer, male or female, in the World Cup Final.
  • La’eeb will be the official mascot of the FIFA 2022 World cup at Qatar.
  • Vishwanathan Anand will be  the member of FIDE. FIDE is the organisation which organises and controls all the tournaments related to Chess.
  • The 2022 Miami Open tennis tournament Men’s Single won by Carlos Alcaraz (Spain) and Women’s Single won by Iga Świątek  (Poland).   
  • Charks leclere  won the Australian Grand prix 2022.
  • ICC players of the month of March 2022 were Babar Azam from Pakistan in Men’s category and Rachael Hayues from Australia in Women’s.

  • National Maritime Day in India is observed on 5 April every year. This year is the 59th edition of the National Maritime Day. The theme of the National Maritime Day is “Sustainable Shipping beyond Covid-19’’. National Maritime Day was first celebrated on April 5, 1964.
  • World Health Day was celebrated on 7th April. On 7th April 1948 the world health Organisation was formed. The Theme for 2022 is “Our Planet, our Health ”.
  • World Homeopathy day is observed on 10th of April. On the birth anniversary of Dr Samuel Hahnemann (father of Homeopathy). Theme of 2022 is “People choice for wellness.”
  • Tamil Nadu celebrates the 14th of April as Equality Day. 14 April is the birth anniversary of Dr Bhim Rao Ambadkar.
  • World  liver day 2022 was observed on 19th April.
  • World Earth Day is observed on 22nd April. The theme for 2022 is “Invest in our planet”.

  • Aarefa Johari awarded Chameli Devi Jain award 2021. This award is  only given to women journalists in the field of Journalism.
  • Kamloops Residential School photograph has won the 2022 world press photo of the year award. This award is given by the Ductch foundation. This image was clicked by Amber Brochen.
  • 1st award of Lata Deenanath Mangeshkar awards was awarded to PM Narander Modi. It is given in any field of social life.
  • Atal Tunnel built by BRO, in Himachal Pradesh has won the Indian Building Congress awards for Excellence in Built Environment 2021 under the best infrastructure project category.
