NATIONAL PARK | Tiger Reserve and Wild Life Sanctuary in INDIA

National park and wildlife sanctuary are created to protect the habitats of conservation rliant species.Here animals are taken care of and allowed to live peacefully in their natural habitats.Their surroundings are protected from any sort of disturbance.

Wildlife Sanctuaries are famous for the conservation of wildlife, which includes animals, insects, microorganisms, birds, etc. of different genes and species. On the other hand, National Parks are highly known preserving the flora, fauna, landscape and historical objects.

India enacted the Wildlife Protection Act and Project Tiger to safeguard the habitats of conservation reliant species.. Human activities are allowed to a limited extent in the wildlife sanctuaries, but in case of national parks, they are strictly prohibited by the authorities.

  1. India’s first national park was established in 1936 as Hailey National Park, now known as Jim Corbett National Park, Uttarakhand.
  2. Ramganga river flow through Jim Corbett National Park.
  3. Keibul Lamjao National park in Manipur is only floating park in the world located on Loktak Lake , India.
  4. Dehing Patkal Nationl Park is established in 2020 in Assam.
  5. Hemis National Park in Jammu And Kashmir is the largest National park of India.
  6. South Button Island National park in Andaman and Nicobar Island is the smallest National Park in India.
  7. Rann Of Kutch in Gujart is largest Wildlife Sanctuary of India.
  8. Bor Tiger Reserve in Maharashtara is the smallest wildlife Sanctuary in India.
  9. Project Tiger was Stated in year 1973.
  10. Project Elephant was Stated in year 1992.
  11. Project Snow Leopard was Stated in year 2009.
  12. Highest number of tigers in India are found in Madhya Pradesh.
  13. Two new Tiger Reserve in Assam as Raimona Tiger reserve and Dibru – Saikhowa Tiger Reserve now total of 52 Tiger Reserve in India
