  • Sri Veerabhadra Swamy temple and the Monolithic Bull (Nandi) at Lepakshi were placed on the UNESCO World Heritage tentative list from Andhra Pradesh. The temple was built during the Vijaynagar empire.
  • Gudi Padwa festival is celebrated in Maharashtra. It is observed as the new year of Maharashtra.
  • Nepal becoming the 105th member of the International Solar Alliance (ISA).
  • Haryana government launched crop insurance portal of ‘Mukhya Mantri Bagwani Bima Yojana’ with an initial corpus of Rs 10 crore for the scheme.
  • Dr Sreeram Chauliahas authored a new book titled “Crunch Time: Narendra Modi’s National Security Crises”. 
  • A new book “Queen of Fire” launched. This book is authored by Devika Rangachari. This book is written about the Rani Lakshmibai of Jhansi.
  • Pulitzer Prize winning American poet Richard Howard passes away at the age of 92. Howard won the Pulitzer Prize in 1970 for ‘’Untitled Subjects’’ and was a National Book Award Finalist in 2008 for ‘’Without Saying’’.
  • The Gangaur festival is celebrated in Rajasthan and some parts of Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, and West Bengal. It is one of Rajasthan’s most important festivals and is observed with great fervour across the state.
  • President of India Shree Ramnath Kovind visited the Netherlands. There he was given the new variety of Tulip flower. He gave the new to this tulip as “Maitri ”.
  • Prakriti (mascot) was launched by Environment ministry Bhupendra Yadav for the Waste management.
  • Kaaval Uthavi app launched in Tamil Nadu. The app is for women Safety, they can use it in an emergency. With this app they can also register a FIR.
  • Dharmandra Pradhan released the book titled “Birsa Munda – Janjatiya Nayak ”. This book is authored by Alok Chakrawal.
  • CM of Madhya Pradesh Shivaraj Chawan launched Mukahamintri Udaam Karanti Yojana for the Start Up. In this Loan for start up will be given from 1 to 50 Lakh at low interest rate.
  • Russia is removed from the UNHRC (United Nation Human Right Commision) for attacking Ukraine. Now the total members of UNHRC are 46.
  • Petroglyphs found in the Konkan region  are added to the tentative list of Heritage sites of UNESCO.
  • Madagascar became the 30th member of CDRI (Coalition for disaster resilient infrastructure). This organisation was launched by PM Narendra Modi in 2019.
  • Tamil Nadu women have taken the maximum loan under the MUDRA yojana. They have taken 68% of the total loan taken by the women.
  • Sarhul Festival 2022 was celebrated in Jharkhand. It is a tribal festival.
  • Karnataka has established a cooperative bank for the milk production. The aim of this bank is to increase the production of Milk. Its logo was launched by Amit shah.

  • “Tomb of Sand” became the first Hindi novel to get shortlisted for International Booker prize, this book is authored by Geetanjali shree. Its English version was translated by Dossy Rockwell.
  • AVSAR Scheme was launched by the Airport Authority of India, to provide a platform to SHG and artists to showcase and sell their product at the airport.
  • Gujarat topped the state energy and climate index of Niti Aayog. Followed by Kerala and Punjab at 2nd and 3rd position. Chhattisgarh was at the bottom of the list.
  • Madhavpur Mela is celebrated in Porbandar, Gujarat. It is a 5 days festival in which Lord Krishna and Rukmani marriage is celebrated.
  • In India Mumbai got the 2nd “Tree city of the world tag” after Hyderabad.
  • Israel tested a new laser-based air defence system ‘Iron Bean’.
  • “Him Prahari ” scheme launched in Uttarakhand for the ex-service men and youngsters.
  • “Radio Aksh ”, India’s first radio channel for visually impaired people launched in Nagpur. Its purpose is to educate the visually imparired.
  • BRO head LG Rajeev Chaudhary announced that the BRO will build the world’s highest tunnel at Shinku La pass, at 16,580 feet. It will connect the Himachal with Ladak.
  • A book titled “The boy who wrote a constitution: A play for  children on Human rights” authored by Rajesh Talwar launched.
  • Dhanlaxmi Bank has signed MoU with the central board of direct taxes and the Central Board of Indirect taxes and customs for the collection of taxes.
  • Russia test-fired the “RS-28 SARMAT” world’s most powerful nuclear capable intercontinental ballistic missile.
  • Babita Singh a serial entrepreneur was named a Global peace Ambassador for her work in promoting peace.
  • Cyber defence exercise called Locked shields was conducted by NATO in Estonia.
  • World’s largest electric 3-wheeler making plant will be set up in Telangana. It will be set up by Biliti electric Inc, based in California, USA.
  • PM Modi inaugurated Global Ayush investment and innovation summit 2022 in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. Shri Pravind Jugnauth Pm of Mauritius and Dr Tedros Andhanom the Director general of WHO also attended the summit.
  • Jammu and Kashmir launched the “Jan Nigrani” app to help people lodge complaints.
  • Scorpene-class Submarine “VAGSHEER” inaugurated and launched at Mazagon dock limited.
  • India’s 1st pure green hydrogen plant commissioned in Jorhat , Assam by Oil India limited.
  • PM Modi released a coin and Postage Stamp on the 400th Birth anniversary of 9th Sikh Guru Tegh Bahadur.
  • Former President of Kenya Mwai Kibaki passed away at the age of 90. He served as the third President of Kenya.
  • The Tamil Nadu government has announced that it will observe Minorities rights Day annually on 18th of December.

  • PM Narendar Modi inaugurated the 500KW solar power plant at Palli Village in Samba District, Jammu and Kashmir. Palli becomes India’s 1st Carbon-Neutral Panchayat.
  • India ranked 3rd in the Military spending according to the Sweden based think-tank Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) Report. 1st is the USA and the 2nd is China.
  • PM Modi laid the foundation stone for “WHO global centre for traditional medicine at Gujarat.
  • Elon Musk acquires Twitter for approx $44 billion. Elon Musk is the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX. The current  CEO of twitter is Parag Agrawal.
  • The former Chief Minister of Meghalaya, JD Rymbai, passed away at the age of 88 on april 21, 2022. In 2006 he was the CM of Meghalaya.
  • Jamtara in Jharkhand has become the first district in the country to have community libraries in all gram Panchayats.
  • L&T and IIT Bombay collaborate to develop green Hydrogen technology.
  • The Digital India RISC-V Microprocessor (DIR-V) Program was launched by Rajeev Chandrasekhar in New Delhi. It is the next generation microprocessor development program which will be developed by December 2023 so that India can become self-Reliant in terms of Microprocessor.

  • The United Nations human right council has appointed Ian Fryas the world’s first independent expert for human rights and climate change.
  • Shehbaz Sharif was elected as the new Prime Minister of Pakistan after Imaran Khan lost the confidence in the National Assembly.
  • Manoj Soni was appointed as the chairperson of UPSC, in the place of Pardip Kumar Joshi. Appointed by the president of India under article 315.
  • Harsh Vardhan Shringla named as India’s chief coordinator of G-20. As India will host the 2023 G-20 meeting. The 2022 G-20 meeting is hosted by Indonesia, known as the Bali conference.
  • Iqbal Singh Lalpura re-appointed as the chairman of National commission of Minorities. And Vijay Sampla as the Chairperson of  National commission for scheduled castes.
  • Indian pulses and grains association named Bimal Kothari as its new Chairman.
  • Ajay Kumar Sood, appointed as the principal scientific Advisor to the government of India. He will advise the PM and cabinet on science and technology and innovation.
  • Shanti Sethi appointed as Kamala Harris defence adviser, she is the 1st India-American commander of a major US Navy combat ship.

  • Emmanuel Macron was re-elected as the President of France for his 2nd Terms.
  • Krishnan Ramanujam appointed as the Chairperson of NASSCOM for the year 2022-2023.

  • Australia wins ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2022. It was their 7th title won by defeating England at the Hagley Oval in Christchurch, New Zealand.
  • Alyssa Healy of Australia scored 170 runs in the match, the highest individual score made by any cricketer, male or female, in the World Cup Final.
  • La’eeb will be the official mascot of the FIFA 2022 World cup at Qatar.
  • Vishwanathan Anand will be  the member of FIDE. FIDE is the organisation which organises and controls all the tournaments related to Chess.
  • The 2022 Miami Open tennis tournament Men’s Single won by Carlos Alcaraz (Spain) and Women’s Single won by Iga Świątek  (Poland).   
  • Charks leclere  won the Australian Grand prix 2022.
  • ICC players of the month of March 2022 were Babar Azam from Pakistan in Men’s category and Rachael Hayues from Australia in Women’s.
  • Ravichandra Ashwin became the 1st batter to be retired in IPL.
  • ICC Men’s T20 world cup 2024 will be hosted by the West Indies and USA.
  • Commonwealth games 2026 will be hosted in Victoria, Australia. T20 and cycling will also be added.
  • National Basketball championship won by Tamil Nadu against Punjab in Men’s contagious and in women’s contagious Indian Railway won against Telangana.
  • Haryana won the 12th senior men’s national hockey championship defeating Tamil Nadu.
  • D Gukesh won the 48th La Roda International open chess tournament.
  • Russian Tennis player Andrey Rublev, defeated Serbian tennis star Novak Djokovic and won the Men’s Singles title in Serbia Open 2022.
  • Formula one racer Max Verstappen won the Laureus World sportsman of the year award and Jamaican sprinter Elaine Thompson-Herah has won the Laureus World sportswoman of the year award 2022.
  • Max Verstappen won the 3rd edition of Emilia Romagna Grand Prix 2022.

  • National Maritime Day in India is observed on 5 April every year. This year is the 59th edition of the National Maritime Day. The theme of the National Maritime Day is “Sustainable Shipping beyond Covid-19’’. National Maritime Day was first celebrated on April 5, 1964.
  • World Health Day was celebrated on 7th April. On 7th April 1948 the world health Organisation was formed. The Theme for 2022 is “Our Planet, our Health ”.
  • World Homeopathy day is observed on 10th of April. On the birth anniversary of Dr Samuel Hahnemann (father of Homeopathy). Theme of 2022 is “People choice for wellness.”
  • Tamil Nadu celebrates the 14th of April as Equality Day. 14 April is the birth anniversary of Dr Bhim Rao Ambadkar.
  • World  liver day 2022 was observed on 19th April.
  • World Earth Day is observed on 22nd April. The theme for 2022 is “Invest in our planet”.
  • 21st of April is observed as the National civil service Day.
  • National Panchayati Raj Day is observed across India on 24th of April. The Panchayati System came into being in India by 73rd Constitutional Amendment which came into force on 24th of April 1993.

  • The 64th annual Grammy Awards : Album Of The Year  ‘We Are’ by Jon Batiste, Best New Artist  Olivia Rodrigo.
  • Ramdarash Mishra awarded with Saraswati Samman 2021, for his book “Mein Yaha hu”. He is a Hindi poet from Gaurakpur.
  • Aarefa Johari awarded Chameli Devi Jain award 2021. This award is  only given to women journalists in the field of Journalism.
  • Kamloops Residential School photograph has won the 2022 world press photo of the year award. This award is given by the Ductch foundation. This image was clicked by Amber Brochen.
  • 1st award of Lata Deenanath Mangeshkar awards was awarded to PM Narander Modi. It is given in any field of social life.
  • Atal Tunnel built by BRO, in Himachal Pradesh has won the Indian Building Congress awards for Excellence in Built Environment 2021 under the best infrastructure project category.
